The proposed building design will set a new standard for residential development in the Newark area, creating a way of living based on contemporary design, wellness, health and sustainability.
The project consists in the renovation of the existing 50,000 sq/ft existing brick and steel warehouse, built in the early 20th century and a 50,000 sq/ft new 4-story addition, to be cladded in glass and oversized tiles. All the windows in the existing building will be replaced and the brick facade restored to its original beauty.
The new portion of the building will be constructed utilizing a light steel frame. For structural stability the design will include a new stairway and elevator core to be built in reinforced concrete.
Amenities available to tenants will include a movie theater and a residents lounge for private parties. As an additional amenity, a wellness centre will be constructed on site, inclusive of an oversized whirlpool, a sauna, a steam bath, showers and bathrooms. Other amenities include a gym and a yoga studio. Bike racks and private storage spaces will also be available.
The lobby will include a reception with a 24 hours doorman, a package room and another lounge for everyday use.
The building rooftop will feature two indoor lounges - one for play and one for work. It will also have + or - 4,000 sq/ft of outdoor area to be enjoyed by the tenants. This area will be furnished with lounge chairs and tables for barbecue and outdoor dining.
